Elevated Essence

Elevated Essence
South Loop, Chicago, IL
This One Museum Park East condo renovation was all about blending high-end luxury
with personal style. Perched in a breathtaking South Loop high-rise overlooking Lake
Michigan, the space was transformed into a contemporary weekend retreat that feels
like a five-star hotel with Afrocentric influences, all while staying connected to the
serene views of the lake.
Custom high-gloss laminate built-ins throughout the office, dining area, and living space
provide sleek functionality, complemented by snowy white quartz surfaces that add a
polished, modern touch. The living room’s feather chenille channel sofa offers both
comfort and style, sitting atop a hand-tufted viscose rug that adds softness and texture
to the space. Ripple fold drapes and motorized shades create privacy and frame the
stunning lake views, while aged iron light fixtures and sconces cast a warm, ambient
glow.
The dining area features an oval black ceramic-top table paired with velvet light gray
chairs, creating a sophisticated setting for intimate gatherings. Large African artworks, a
striking blue Juju hat, and a porcupine mirror infuse the space with bold, cultural
character, while custom Euroline built-ins and floating shelves maintain a sleek,
cohesive aesthetic. In the primary bedroom, a shagreen bed and nightstands, cowhide
and acrylic bench, and silk-embossed vinyl wallpaper bring a sense of soft luxury and
texture.
The custom-designed kitchen is both functional and stunning, featuring high-end
appliances and a liquid titanium linear glass mosaic backsplash that adds a
contemporary, shimmering detail. Every element, from the velvet chairs to the white
marble side tables, was chosen to balance opulence with personal warmth.
This renovation isn’t just a design—it’s an experience. By blending contemporary
sophistication, Afrocentric inspiration, and lakefront serenity, this million-dollar home in
the sky has been transformed into a true masterpiece of elevated living.
